The People of Chattacon

All guests of honor, panelists, performers, presenters, artists or any other individual who may present in some way at Chattacon are booked in good faith and we have their guarantee that they will appear when we announce they will be at the convention. However, unforeseen events (illness, family emergencies or production work) may cause a particular guest to cancel.

Big Daddy Voodoo

Big Daddy Voodoo has been entertaining audiences for over 13 years as a performer, professional emcee, sports announcer, and event host.

Originally announcing roller derby in his hometown of Johnson City, Tennessee, he worked his way up to becoming a well known announcing personality across the southeast United States, announcing for multiple WFTDA National Playoffs and countless team’s home games.  Years of trial and error producing and performing for roller derby audiences gave him the experience to engage audiences of any kind and bring a level of essential value that led to a career of professional event hosting.

In addition to roller derby, he has professionally announced a wide  variety of events such as:  The “Addy” Awards; Pie Wars Pizzeria Competition; BaconFest; Young Professionals Kingsport recruitment dance; Thrill-the-World;  Maker Faire, various music festivals. Convention costume contests and panels are a special love having worked with Connapalooza, RobCon, Koku Manga, ShivaCon, DragonCon and, of course, ChattaCon!  He is the voice of Power 94.5 (con radio), and announces annual Monster Truck Races at Bristol Motor Speedway!

Other projects have included filmmaking, esports announcing, voice overs, audiobook narration, live burlesque & oddity shows, sound design, fire safety support, and announcing for Unifire Theater ( Western North Carolina’s premiere fire performance group.) To make the list exhaustive, he also loves writing, comic books, RPG games, and hosting live murder mystery dinners. He produced a local public affairs YouTube channel for three years and is slowly preparing for a return to short format video content.

Since the world began opening up post-pandemic he has been focusing more on convention appearances and working on personal projects to pull together his various skills.
